Supervision Definition
Supervisions are an important record f your performance, potential and development needs. They are an opportunity for discussions to take place regularly, in a formal manner to review what has been achieved during the last supervision and to agree objectives for the next.
Benefits of Supervision
Supervision are a way of ensuring we provide continuing to you and to aid all around job performance, job satisfaction, improved communication and understanding, increased awareness and participation, better planning and co-ordination, this in turn will assist and equip you with the tools to perform your role and to perhaps prepare you for future roles within the company.
Supervision Frequency and Environment
Supervision should occur at least 6 weekly, however either supervisor or supervisee may request additional supervisions if required. Supervisions should be schedule in advance, any changes to supervision dates must be negotiated and agreed by both supervisor and supervisee. Supervisions should take place in an uninterrupted environment.
Confidentiality
The content of your supervision should be kept confidential unless both supervisor and supervisee agree to open it up for discussion with other colleagues. Where matters of misconduct or POVA issues are raised these may be taken out of the Supervision Contract and brought to the attention of Head Office.
The supervision booklet that is completed will be kept on file and can be referred to by supervisor and supervisee at any time. Both supervisor and supervisee must sign the booklet and any notes taken.
