The Berkeley

The Berkeley

The Berkeley is a specialist home for adults with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, mental health needs, epilepsy and certain older people’s needs. Our specialist expertise in these areas feeds into staff training, person-centred support plans and the overall management of the home.

The home provides a service for adults of either sex seeking to improve their independent living skills who are encouraged to aim to move on to more independent forms of living.  For those unable or unwilling to do so the home is able to provide a medium or long term care and support service. The home is also able to provide respite care to suitable individuals.

Being  situated close to both Northampton and Kingsthorpe town centres and all possible community amenities, the Berkeley enables true community exposure and living with all their attendant benefits for personal growth and development.

In the pre-admission assessment, strengths and areas which are agreed to benefit from further development are identified.

Activities Room

The Berkeley is a spacious, homely property with large outside spaces. All accommodation is provided in single rooms. The home provides multiple recreational spaces including a separate computer room for users of the service.

The home serves as a base for day opportunities and is also able to give access to Mentaur Day Opportunities Resource Centre in Kingsthorpe.  All systems used around The Berkeley are adaptable and flexible according to service user needs both as individuals and as a group.
