Rushwell House

Rushwell House is a small residential care home for adults with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, mental health and associated problems. The staff team at Rushwell House work from a person-centred approach when supporting each user of service.

Accommodation is provided in single rooms. There is good sized garden attached to the property. There is a separate entrance and living facilities for the two users of service on the lower ground floor.

Rushwell House is located close to the centre of Rushden town and amenities including shops, recreational and leisure facilities. It is within reasonable distance of the major road routes of the A14, M1 and A1.

Rushwell House provides a service for adults of either sex seeking to improve their independent living skills who will be encouraged to aim to move on to more independent forms of living. For those unable or unwilling to do so the home is able to provide a medium or long term care service.

Supportive Care for Service Users

At Rushwell House, the manager is supported by a positive, trained and highly motivated staff group. This enables a caring and safe environment for you to develop to your optimum social, emotional, and intellectual potential. We will encourage you to act independently and make decisions that affect your own life.

A full day opportunities service is available to all service users who are not otherwise engaged.

A full social life, coupled with an active day programme gives meaning and develops skills, while allowing personal time and space.

Given the wide spectrum of needs cared for, Mentaur places special emphasis on staff training and satisfaction. We support staff to constantly improve their skill base and, when necessary effectively manage complex situations.

Rushwell House Semi-independent Unit

Rushwell House's semi-independent area allows you to live independently while benefiting from the support of trained care home staff. You may choose to make this your home or to work towards moving into completely independent accommodation. For more information click here.

Living at Rushwell House will allow you to:

	Live in a home independently and be supported by staff who work with a person- centred approach		Have your personalised timetable of opportunities
	Socialise with others both at home and in the community		Have access to day services, where you will be able to make new friends and develop areas of your interest
	Receive advocacy and associated support		Meet other service users weekly to share views and make changes
	Get help with education or finding employment		Have easy access to public transport and green areas
