Herons Lodge

Located close to the centre of the charming town of Market Harborough, yet within sight of the countryside, Herons Lodge provides an exclusive residential service for people with learning difficulties and complex needs.

Herons lodge is a spacious house with multiple living areas and a large walled garden. Situated in the heart of the community, the house provides a unique blend of community access and privacy.

For some, Herons Lodge may be a home for life, for others it will be a stepping stone to a more independent way of living. Each person is given a chance to explore their potential and participate in decisions that affect their life. Also, Herons Lodge subscribes to the principles of privacy, dignity, independencce, choice, rights and fulfilment.

Supportive Care for people with Complex Needs

While some of the service users at Herons Lodge require intensive staff support because of the complexity of their needs, there are others whose capacity for independet living is only occasionally undermined by behavioural difficulties or health issues.

Service users may have an autistic spectrum disorder, mental health or present with behaviour which challenges. A full day opportunities service is available to all service users.

A full social life coupled with educational, occupational and work programmes gives meaning and develops skills, while allowing personal time and space.

Given the wide spectrum of needs cared for, Mentaur places special emphasis on staff training and satisfaction. We support staff to constantly improve their skill base, and effectively manage difficult and complex situations.
