Tessa's diary:

Moving on...

Tessa

After living at The Berkeley for quite a while it was suggested to me that I could go and live in the new home that was soon to be opened. This home would be more independent and I would have a room that was much larger than my previous one. So I decided to give it a go.

I moved into Wilton House on the 8th of January 2009; I was excited about my move and, even though I enjoyed living at The Berkeley, I felt like I needed more independence. At Wilton House I can venture out more because it is in an area which contains more “social amenities”.

I am still employed by Morrison's Supermarket and I still enjoy going to work, I have made several new friends and have been out socially with them on some occasions. I joined them for the staff Christmas dinner which was held at a nightclub. It was really good, the food was great and we all had a good time.

I do not attend Day Resource Centre much but this is because I now take on extra shifts at work. I still remain in close contact with Maxine, who helps me with my finances at my request and even took me for a shopping spree to Birmingham!

Talking about finances, I spent good money on a "night out" with JLS and Lemar!

On the 27th of March, Tracey and I went to Birmingham to see Lemar in Concert and his special guests were JLS. Nikki Lemar concert ticketcame to pick us up at 3:30pm and then we were off! We got to the NIA Arena at 6pm and we waited outside for the doors to open at 6:30pm. Then we got something to eat, we went to find our seats and I was pleased that they were good ones and we could see the stage. We had to wait for Lemar to come on stage, during which we saw JLS, they were really good and sang five songs. Then eventually Lemar came on and I was quite excited, I thought he was really good and it was worth my money!

The concert finished at 10pm, we then all got in the car and went home. We arrived after midnight and was really tired, the next day I had a chance to have a rest as I was on a late shift. It was all worth it!
